Although I've never tried it, yes, there is plenty of great fly fishing, especially in the mountain trout streams along the eastern part of the country. And a lot of people fly fish for bass, bream, and other fish - I see fly fishermen at almost every lake and river I go.

Yep, bass are almost all over the place. They were stocked here back in the 70's - Read this article if you'd like a bit of history on that.

From all the pictures of Bass you post, which is quite often, I'm getting the impression that there are lots of lakes with lots of fish in Korea?

Are these big mouth bass indigenous to Korean lakes?

Frank, I tried to find the road you're talking about but was fruitless. I tried the road to Lake Hills golf course and a few other side roads but no luck. I fished the cove from a boat last year but the locals gave me a hard time. I ended up fishing a small lake on the North side, I think it may be the same one that Rob is talking about, and caught a lot of small bass and bream.
The cove will be filled with bream bedding during the next full moon and I want in on that action. Can you give me directions to the dirt road? Thanks, John

LOL Nomad. I'll check it out the next time I'm down that way, which will probably be this weekend. I made the mistake of leaving Seoul at 1330 this past Saturday, took four hours to get to Humphreys, and it was nearly as bad yesterday when I left at 0730 to go fishing.

Rob,

I could teach my wife what I know about fishing in less than 5 minutes. Put whatever lure you hope catches fish on hook, throw out, reel in and pray :) - oh, and make sure your drag is loose!!!!!!

You need to go by the baitshop that has the fish tanks in front of it and take a look at the huge bass the owner has in there. There are some monster bass in this lake.

Nice fish Nomad! We were at the small lake on 82, up the road from you guys, yesterday. I caught one bluegill and "almost" caught a tiny bass. lol I was just out enjoying the nice day, trying to teach my wife what little I know about fishing. My friend's son cleaned up on the bluegill, and Gar caught a really nice one (he was able to lip it like a Bass), and several small bass.
