Nice Fish!!!! I know the feeling about other fisherman taking your spot. I was fishing on Chongok lake one morning drop-shotting a bluff when two KBF boys pulled up between our boat and the bluff. Mr Yi, my bassing buddy, told them we had this place first and they replied that he had no class and fishing with a Megook prooved it. I eased the boat over so our gunwales were about an inch apart then eased in front of them so they could not traverse the bluff. They huffed and puffed a little muttering about KBF and that they had a tournament therefore they had the right to do what they wanted and eventually they left. I see that consideration of other anglers is still not the norm in the land of the "Morning Calm"

Was that supposed to be some sort of "mulling?"

Other than the "monkees dancing" slur on the G.I.'s, I found myself actually agreeing with him (for a change).

You're right of course Nomad.

Yes. Bounce or something like it. I can't remember if the people who told me about it said use a certain brand, but I've used whatever we had at the house. It worked good enough for me most days, but when you're sweating a lot, you have to keep applying it -- you can use the same sheet a number of times.

The area was near Savannah -- which is a low area and marshy, which made it worse...

Magoo,

Notice how everyone ignores you and your baiting comments?
Now - I do know for a fact that you're very capable of making worthwhile contributions to topics and discussions because from time to time, you let down your guard and posted some really thought provoking and intelligent posts over on the KH forum. If you're trying to get a rise out of me, you're wasting your time...really. So I wish you'd get over whatever it is that's causing you to leave these asinine comments.

Nomad, look for something with DEET. I still have a few tubes left from my active duty days. It repels everything, including small children. I have seen something in the BX with DEET in it. Yes, it costs a little more than standard Off.

Cheers

I find that an air conditioned living room will pretty much keep the gnats off, which is where I should have stayed today consideering the puny bass we caught this morning.

I was at the pay lake next to you until noon. Gnats in my nose, eyes, ears... no skeeters though.

A laundry dryer sheet? Like Bounce? I'll give it a try.

What part of south Ga? I lived in Valdosta for 4 years back in the early 80's.

I've been wanting a pair of those waist to chest high boots since I started fishing again, but we have a budget crunch at the moment. I haven't been fishing in a few weeks, but I have gotten in a good bit of blackberry picking --- to the point I'm sick of them.

For the gnats -- try rubbing your exposed parts with a laundry dryer sheet. And bring a couple with you.

It works for me. How long it lasts depends on how much you sweat. And the stuff provides a nice smell too.

Last year, I lived in south Ga, and it is infamous for them. If you're not from there, it will just about drive you crazy, but conviently enough, the state mental facility is located in that area.....
