My buddy Rob took the day off today to do some fishing so the second my workday was over, I sped off to meet him out at the river for a bit of catching up and some bass fishing. What a beautiful, beautiful day it was and I really hated to be at work all day, knowing Rob was out on the river catching bass but that’s just the way it is sometime. Hopefully one of these days soon I’ll be out fishing while he’s at work, staring out of the window
.
Rob had a pretty good day…by the time I got there, he already had five keepers in the basket and they were all pretty nice size. As a matter of fact, just as I walked up to say hi, Rob pulled one in. I ended up keeping three of the four I caught and once again, I also missed quite a few. I can’t believe how aggressive the bass are in that part of the river. There’s never a question if you have a bite or not because these fish attack the lure with a vengeance…no gentle tap-tap like in some of the other places I fish.
Above is Rob’s basket-o-bass – they were all between one and two pounds, which means Mrs. Rob will be eating some good soup tonight.

I know why I didn’t catch a lot of bass today: I remembered to bring some jeans and old shoes to change into after work, but I forgot my lucky fishing hat! I wish I would have had more time to fish and shoot the breeze with Rob since I haven’t seen him in a while, but I must say – this was the perfect way to round out the week. Thanks, Rob!

Damn, Odie Joe made a comment on a blog from Iraq. I never thought I’d see the day.
What’s up? You don’t have anything better to do than talk smack? You’re just jealous because you can’t fish in Iraq. Shouldn’t you be working, hunting terrorists or something?
Take care buddy, and thanks for dropping by….
