Nomad,
If you don't go with some good friends you enjoy spending time with then I'd advise not going at all. The fishing truly sucks, and you pay well for the privilege, but then maybe I'm slightly spoiled after having deep-sea fished in California, Hawaii, Australia, Florida, and Cuba. I saw fish no more than 2" long get tossed in the cooler. It's amazing there are fish at all, never mind that they are all small. No regulating = no reproducing of mature adults = little to no fish for the future.

Maybe they do have seasonal restrictions on rock bass and flounder. Anyone out there know? By the way, there wasn't a flounder to be found on our boat Saturday. If someone caught one it would have been like hitting the lotto I'm sure.

Gar,

I've never heard anything good about the deep sea fishing over here. I think the local waters are about fished out because your story matches everything I've heard from others - nothing but small fish, if any at all.

Nice pics. Only time I ever got sea sick was on one of those Korean fishing boats. My saving grace was that one of the Koreans actually felt worse than me. Finally the others got tired of being tossed around so went in and spent the rest of day eating our catch and drinking soju.

BTW, the best free image editor is here. You can scale your pics to whatever size you want.
