usinkorea,

It didn't get away - although to be honest, that does happen to me far too much for my liking. I do miss a lot of fish, happened again this morning on the only hit I got. I *think* it's because I bury my hook in my Senkos to make them totally weedless...some people fish Senkos with the hook tip exposed which supposedly cuts down on the number of missed fish but in the areas I fish, there are a lot of rocks, nets and weeds/algae.

LOL, and if I'm going to make up a fish story, you can bet the fish will be bigger than 3 pounds :)

Ah, "Canon" you said...
That Casio used to burn two AA's after taking 10 pictures. What a piece of crap. I keep it in my glove box for roadside evidence pictures, God forbid. Probably won't work if I ever need it anyway. :(

Funny you mention low batteries...that happened to me earlier in the week at Dunpo. I was taking pictures of the sun creeping over the mountains to catch the gradual change in light when all of a sudden, my batteries died on me. I'm afraid to take the Rebel XT out there..with my luck, I'd drop it in the water. My Canon PowerShot A80 is perfect for fishing (when I remember it, LOL).

Or... one of your friends catches a really nice fish (Ruben, 4 lb trout) and as you frame the photo, the camera suddenly says "low battery" and shuts off. Doh! I hate it when that happens. That's why I traded my crappy Casio for a Cannon EOS Rebel XT. The battery has never died on me since.

Doesn't surprise me that it was your daughter who thought of using the cell phone. Kids today are far more high tech than we are.

Nomad,

Been there, done it, had it, drank the Pepsi, and all that. It never fails that when you catch a nice one and go to reach for the camera or worst yet ask your buddies if they brought their cameras that you find out you have nothing to take a photo of the great moment. At least you have had two successful trips in a row. Good luck on your next one.

If Nomad says he caught it, then he caught it. I've fished with him enough to know that he wouldn't lie about something like that.
