Last year, I could walk the shore with an ultralight, using a white rooster tail and I could catch keeper bluegill, one after the other. One day, I caught well over 60 (all catch & release) but this year, I don't think I caught over 15 keeper bluegill out there - all year. Here's my Sunday report. Me and my two cousins decided to head out again with high hopes following our trip on Tuesday, but today hardly nothing was biting for us. Started off at the lake southeast of the Anseong Rest Area. Arrived early at 0600, threw senkos and chatterbaits with only 4 very small hookups. Later moved to the East shallows of Idong, looking for bass, no luck there. Made our way over to the Hwy 82 lake looking for bluegills, only one keeper size landed after a couple of hours trying. Early afternoon, notice the carp starting to rise for some sun. Managed to get one nice one to bite on live bait. (about 4 pounds). Sorry about the poor picture quality as it was taken with my camera phone. On a side note, the trout over at the lake by the rest area were really working the surface this morning. Saw several nice rainbows and many others. There are already people out there flyfishing. Saw one dude hookup on the flyrod with a real nice trout.
