Nomad,
I am still to see Bass being sold in stores, but I did give a nice 16 inch bass to an old Korean guy who wanted to take it home for his wife to cook......
Now, I agree fully about people fishing for bass. Over the last 2~3 years I have noticed a huge increase in bass fishermen.

Steve,

Unfortunately that's no longer true. Someone told me you can even buy fresh bass at E-Mart now. Koreans definitely have caught on to bass, both the fishing and eating aspects.

Those things get eaten, boiled up in a chigae style soup. And yes, they seem to be amoung the favorites for flyfishers here in Korea.

I don't know much about these things, it was the first and only one I caught. I caught this one on a watermelon GY Fat Ika on a HUGE 6/0 offset hook.

I now that the guys over on Anglerstown catch these fish using fly fishing tactics.

Nomad....it looks exactly like a sucker that you talked about, in the UK we have a very similar fish called <a href="http://images.google.co.kr/imgres?imgurl=http://www.bbc.co.uk/lancashire/content/images/2006/08/03/13_hard_fighting_barbel470_470x300.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.bbc.co.uk/lancashire/content/image_galleries/martin_james_scrapbook_gallery.shtml%3F7&h=300&w=470&sz=101&tbnid=-PE7YD9ju05GvM:&tbnh=82&tbnw=129&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dbarbel%26um%3D1&start=1&sa=X&oi=images&ct=image&cd=1"target="_blank" rel="nofollow">the barble</a>.

What exactly is a NooChi, Steve? It looks sort of like what we call a sucker back where I grew up:
http://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,1607,7-153-10364_18958-45693--,00.html

Do people here eat them? What do they hit on? How do you fish for them?

Details, man, details!
