For those of you who are interested, they’re having a huge fishing show entitled Fishing Korea 2008 from March 14th to the 16th at the Yangjae aT Center, which is located just south of Seoul. If you’re traveling north on expressway 1, Yangjae is the IC just north of the Pangyo IC. A good friend of ours, Mr. Yum from BassPia, is on the board and will be up there all three days as well. You can click on the links above for information on the show, the aT Center or BassPia, and by clicking on the map below you’ll be directed to a much larger one that should provide you with enough details to get you there.

Will they have scantily-clad girls demonstrating the best catch and release techniques?
Too bad it’ll be near Seoul, you know the place is going to be packed elbow to elbow….once again, I’ll pass.
LOL
I was thinking about heading over there after work on Friday the 14th. It’d only be about a ten minute drive, so what the heck? And if there are any scantily-clad girls demonstrating drop shot or shaky head techniques, I’ll have ‘em all to myself because you won’t be there.
Did somebody say “scantily-clad girls” ??
I’d love to go, I wanted to go last year but I was working every weekend, this year I’m not working but I have a Bass club tournament on the 16th and I’m pre-fishing the lake on the 15th.
Rob,
Ok, you drive on up there and (hopefully), my boss will invoke the “59-minute rule” that day so I can hit the river after work
Steve,
Good luck with that tournament – be sure to take lots of pics and to fill us in on the details, ok?
Nomad, you’re forgetting that I’ll already be up there. Actually, the place is only about a ten or fifteen minute drive from where I work, if that.
I went last year and it was kind of a let down. There were no scantily clad girls but even worse, few exhibitors. Hopefully it will be better this year. I went, if I remember correctly, because it was too cold to do anything else. Not so this year, I think I’ll skip the show and hit Singal to see if I can dredge up some pre-spawners.
From the pics of last year’s event on their we site it looks as though they had quite a few exhibits and people in attendance, but I guess pictures can be deceiving. Guess I’ll take the word huge out of the original post.
I hope my comments didn’t discourage anyone from attending. There were huge crowds last year and
I should have gone this year as I didn’t even go fishing. I’m sure the show will continue to get better each passing year. Maybe someone who went will post a report.
The only reason I’m thinking about going is because I’ll already be up there. Otherwise I’d do something else as well. A couple of other people told me the same thing about last year John, so I think you’re spot on in that respect.
John the original,
I fished Singal twice without knowing where to go and didn’t even get a bite. I’ve seen some of the fish you and others have pulled out of there and it is apparant there are some good Bass in there. What is a good place in the lake that one can fish from the shoreline, if you don’t mind sharing. Being that I live and work in Yongsan, it is closer than having to go to Pyongtaek all the time.
Tex Mex,
Here’s a map with some of the popular hot spots. Hope that helps.
Nomad, maybe I missed it, but where is the boat launching ramp at Shingal ??
Steve,
That, I don’t know. John (the original) has used it so maybe he can chime in
Nomad,
Thanks.
Did anybody go to the show ???
