(Good) Friday Afternoon

I took my boat to a new lake on Friday morning after I heard from a few locals that there is Bass in it…..well maybe there is or maybe there isn’t, but I skunked. So at 2:00pm I took the boat to another lake.

I caught 8 Bass in little over 3 hours and missed at least another 10 bites    Here’s a few of them

Nice catch Steve! I’m going to try to launch the boat again this Thursday and Friday. The weather isn’t looking so great as of right now though so I may save the vacation for later on in the spring.

Ack! I just looked the KMA site and you’re right Rob, they’re calling for lower temps and rain next week. Blah, that may cut into my “lunchtime fishing” expeditions!

Good going Steve! LOL, I think the “locals” are trying to free up the productive lakes for themselves by sending you on wild goose chases ;)

  3. Steve says:

You could be right Nomad
The lake was full of crap carp fishermen and the water only had maximum 6 inches visibility. Just doesn’t look like a Bass water to me

  4. Nomad says:

Don’t let visibility be a factor for bass…you should see the visibility in parts of the river we fish. Sometimes I honestly wonder how the heck the fish can see the bait. It’s so murky that once I drop the worm into the water, I can’t see it after it sinks more than two inches. But, we still catch fish!

I know what you mean Nomad, but this water just doesn’t look right, I can’t explain

I remember when I first fished for bass at night, I caught 17 in 4 hours and couldn’t believe how well they see in the dark

  6. Rob says:

Steve, are you sure it wasn’t 17 bass in three hours and fifty nine minutes? LOL Just kidding man…

  7. TY says:

Steve, nice Bass man, I envy all you rich guys that have boats. Maybe some day I’ll get one. This time of year isn’t bad on the banks but in another month, you guys will definately out catch the bank anglers.

  8. Rob says:

lol TY! In all honesty though, it’s not much of an advantage any more. Have you driven down river road on a weekend lately? Boats, boats, and more boats, and some of them are extremely nice setups. I’m talking $30-$40k boats, if not more.

  9. Ty Thomas says:

WOW! No Rob I haven’t driven down that road but I do remember last year there was a nice rig or two. Well anyway I’ll still give them BASS Hell from the banks or the rock cliff at Idong that I slipped off of last year and busted my you know what and went swimming. LOL Scars for life..
