May 10th at Kunsan

As many of you know I went to the AF Base at Kunsan to meet a buddy for the first time. We met at UltimateBass.com and he is from Alaska and in Korea for the first time. He hadn’t caught a bass in over 8 years so we knew we going to have a great weekend.

I got there on Friday night and it was just BBQ and beer until around midnight. We were up at 5:00am on Saturday and hit the lake and we fished until around 7:30pm and we must of caught around 30+ bass between us…..but they were all dinks. The first photo below was the biggest bass I caught all day.

All the fish we caught on 5″ watermelon/red flake senkos and tiki toads in the grass.

Have you ever caught a bass where you could almost NOT get your thumb in it’s mouth ?? ??  I did, here’s my 5″ bass caught on a 5″ wacky rigged senko

    Steve,

You got to get out there, you had fun, and you caught fish. That’s what it’s all about. To answer your question, yes, I caught bass that small, and even smaller. On Sunday out at Idong, I caught several bass that weren’t over 4 inches long, yet they jumped all over my 4 inch Senkos :)

Like Nomad said, at least you got out there and did some fishing, which is never a bad thing.

Is that the only lake you guys fished? I’ve heard that there are several down that way.

We were told that there are other lakes all in a close area, but we stuck at just one (Eunpa Park Lake). We fished every fishy looking spot and this place sure has plenty of bass, and there’s rumour of a 6 pounder caught.

I’m going for a morning fish tomorrow back here in my local area, hopefully will get something a little bigger

If I wake up early enough, I’ll be going fishing as well…hopefully this cold front hasn’t turned the bass off for now.

Good luck Nomad, we are getting a hot front down here
