Rob, my contract on the project I am currently working on is due to be finished around the middle of October this year, but that may get extended to December and I should be home for Christmas (which keeps my better half happy).

I am already penciled in to start work on 'another' project starting early next year, but this time I will be in Angola instead, a that will be for most of 2009 on the same schedule as I'm doing now (28/28).

Congrats Nomad on yet another successful EMB outing, and to you too Joel on landing your first bass!

And speaking of the increase in bass fishermen out on the water these days, this is weird as heck, but I had the river to myself for the entire day yesterday. If there were others out there bass fishing I sure didn't run into them, and I was all over the place. Weird...

Steve, are you going to work the same type of schedule next year?

Nomad, during the week is not too bad down my way until around 5pm when people finish work and head straight to the lake....daytime I usually have the place to myself

Congrats on your first Bass Joel, did you get any photos ??

Wilsong, good to see you over here!! The guys in the local tackle shop fish for the sea bass, so I'll get what info I can for you....I may even try and catch some sea bass myself. Some guys in my bass club caught a few sea bass this week and one of them was around the 70cm size and the "small" ones were around 50cm

Steve,

Unfortunately, there are a heck of a lot more bass fishermen up this way as well. Even on weekday mornings now, bright and early

Joel,

Congratulations on finding a fishing partner, and on catching your first bass! Don't feel bad, this time of year is tough and trust me, we've all caught our share of small or no bass
And no worries, this site will keep going but the posts may not be as frequent during the summer as they were in the spring.

Wilsong,

I can't remember if you've commented here before or not but just in case this is your fist time, welcome!

I was out fishing for the first time yesterday afternoon! Just a shortie with a nice member from anglerstown. It was superhot and bad conditions (we had to leave around 6.30pm) so we had a hard time. After some trying for "normal fish" I tried for some smaller, just to get a bass. Ended up with 6 bass in about 1½h, the biggest one about 15cm!

Haha, my first real bass anyway. But yeah, next weekend we will be going with my father for some more serious fishing, so then its all in on the bigger ones :D

Keep this site going by the way! Great inspiration for foreign fishermen that stranded in Korea :D

Steve,

When you get back want to talk to you about the Japanese Sea Bass off your island's beaches again. Anything you can tell me about time periods, beaches to look at, etc. I have some vacation days to schedule and want to go hunting for the Sea Bass this year, summer, fall, whenever the good times are.

I fly out of Nigeria on June 24th and arrive home on Thursday June 26th....believe me, I want to be home and fishing

Fortunately, there are not that many carp fishermen where I fish, but there seems to be more and more bass fishermen around these days.

Steve,

Last week we had some pretty heavy rains, almost every single day. This week, I only went out a couple of times and before today, all I caught were a few dinks (yes, even smaller than the ones in those pics above). Another problem right now are the carp fishermen who are literally camping out in a few of my favorite spots with their 10 poles each fanned out all over the place. You need to hurry up and come back so that you can put up some posts ;)
