I was just looking through some bass photos and I came accross the 3 photos below.
The 3 photos are of the same fish caught from the same 1 acre pond on 3 different days, using 3 different lures. Just curious to know if anyone else has caught the same fish before and do you think the bass stop biting the same lure after it has been caught, as the bass below was caught on different lures each time.

March 26th 2008 – spinnerbait

I have caught fish that have been caught before, but as far as I know have never caught the same fish more than once. And I think if they’re hungry, sure, they’ll bite the same type of lure that they were caught on before.
How do you know that’s the same exact bass?
I’ve caught the same fish before…shortly after releasing it, and with the samy type lure. There was the hole in its mouth from the hook…I guess he really wanted that Senko
Nomad,
The only way I know that the 3 photos above are of the same fish is because one of it’s fins is damage/missing. Then after looking a bit harder, I found that the black markings are also exactly the same.
I bet you guessed I’m really “busy” out here huh
LOL Steve. You’re definitely right about the messed up fin, and I noticed that the black marks at the end of the tail are the same also.
LOL
I didn’t compare the pics before but yeah, that fin itself is a sure sign.
No doubt you can catch the same bass even with the same lure. I think some bass are smarter than others though. Example : I have a pond in my front yard. When I bought the property I started stocking big fish. My brother brought two bass that both weighed 4 lbs 4oz. I tagged both fish in different locations. I caught one of these bass about a dozen times before I finally caught the other.
Another example of fish biting the same lure. I have a buddy who caught a bass on Ky Lake. He caught it with a blue/chrome rattle trap. It had a second blue/chrome rattle trap in it’s mouth. Must have been collecting them. So, therefore you can catch the same bass and even on the same lure.
LOL Gary!
Thanks for stopping by.
