After getting skunked at the river early yesterday morning I talked my wife into heading out to Idong for some bluegill fishing yesterday afternoon, which seemed like an excellent idea to me, but apparently somebody (Nomad??? / Hacker???) tipped the bluegill off before we arrived because we didn’t get a single bite. After thirty to forty five minutes of that, we both decided to switch over to bass fishing, and I’m thankful that we did. Before the wind and rain ultimately drove us away, we caught six in approximately an hour and a half of fishing, and I caught one that was a personal best out of Idong, a 3-10 pounder.
The water level was extremely low so I used my chest waders to get out as far as I possibly could, which was, I’m guessing at least 150′. Senkos and chatter baits are what we served up. Here are some pics:
Biggest catch of the day:
Here’s one to provide you with a reference for how far out in the water I was:
Glad you managed to catch a few fish, including a PB
I guess you guys had better weather than us yesterday, it never stopped raining all day here….heavy rain at that!
Rob,
It wasn’t me…I’d actually have to see some bluegill in order to tip them off.
Steve,
It wasn’t too bad up here during the day…unfortunately, my wife and I were both busy all day cleaning and sorting the apartment after our move so no fishing for me
Thanks Steve, and welcome back! They were calling for the rain to start up here around 9 AM, and it did rain a little bit in the morning, but for the most part it was just cloudy and windy all day.
Must have been Hacker…lol
You bet Rob! After I saw you out at the river I Shot over to Idong with my Scuba gear and had a pow-wow with the fish and told them you would probably be on your way over. I guess them bass didn’t listen all to well..them dirty rat bastards.
I guess you found your camera? Must be more to that story.
I wasn’t going to tell Rob, but the other morning at the boat ramp area, I saw a Korean farmer type with a silver camera and it sure did look to me like he was practicing with it, trying to figure it out…of course, it could be that he just got a new camera
lol Hacker! No, those pics were taken with my cell phone unfortunately.
And lol Nomad! All I know is that somebody got a pretty nice camera, and a lot of fishing pictures on the memory stick. Oh, and some pics of your house in the states too. LOL
Rob,
Seriously…on Monday or Tuesday, I saw this Korean guy, looked like a rube, playing with a silver camera out by the PBA area. He was acting like he had just got the camera and was trying to figure out what button did what. I immediately thought about you and your misplaced camera but short of going over and taking it out of his hand to see if it was a Sony Cybershot, there was nothing I could do. Was yours silver colored? (and I know that most of them are these days).
Nomad,
Have you moved already, I remember you talking about it but thought it was later
I’m getting up at 3:00am and heading to the lakes for my first fishing in over 5 weeks….man I can’t wait, don’t think I’ll be sleeping much tonight.
Yes, mine was silver, and it was in an olive drab green case. The PBA area is a pretty good ways away from where I “think” I lost mine though, so I don’t know… What really sucks is that I had some family pics from back home on the memory stick.
Good luck in the morning Steve, and you too Nomad (if you EMB tomorrow)!!!
[...] have stayed with Rob. He did pretty good fishing in the same area he caught that nice bass from just last Saturday and just as I got back from my sweat-fest, he hooked into yet another nice [...]
