Rob, I think you are right, I think that the dark water helps to keep it a little cooler. One lake I fished yesterday was really green in color and the water temp was 82* and another lakes yesterday was crystal clear and the water temp was 89* and the 2 lakes were near each other. It also helps us to be able to sneak up on the fish without spooking them !!</description>
