Like Steve, I was happy to catch my first bass of 2009 even if it was a dink. I was fishing some extreme cover (see pic) with a tube bait and the bass wacked it pretty hard.
The bass was right under this plastic chair, I wanted to exploit the pattern but couldn’t find any more chairs!
I plan on hitting Singal and Andong next month to see if I can catch something bigger.
LOL
What’s the water temp out there, or did you check? Looks like you’re using braid with that tube…
Congratulations John, and LOL on “the pattern.”
Fishing the Pyongtaek river definitely presents some unique challanges at times, doesn’t it? LOL
LOL John
Good to catch the first bass of the year isn’t it!! I have fished with tubes several times and have never had even a single bite on them so I don’t use them anymore.
BTW John, how is the bass and bluegill in your pond doing with the winter weather?? I’d love to see more pics of your pond and fish!!
If it ever warms up, I’ll finally get out there…
The bass and bluegill in that pond are a sore subject with John, Steve
I’ll let him tell you all about it…
Ooooops, me and my big mouth
LOL
Steve,
As the Nomad said, it is a semi-sore issue. After feeding the bass and 14 big as$ bream all year long, the landlord had someone come by and “clean out” the pond. By the time I’d come home, the pond was dry and no fish to be seen. I was going to see if I could overwinter the fish but it was not to be. Too bad, the bass was around 4 1/2 pounds and must of eaten over 100 big goldfish, hope it made someones dinner.
Ack! That sucks.
That would of really pi$$ed me off John….sorry to hear that
