Lunchtime bass

I’ve been pretty lazy lately in the posting department so I’m playing catch-up today with this post.  In the last week or so, there have been a few days where we had nice weather and I was able to scoot out to the river during my lunch break; below are some of the fish I caught:

All were caught on black, 4-inch Senkos, fished slow, close to shore in the rocks and weeds.  The last pic (kind of) shows the type area I’ve been targeting.  So far, I haven’t had any luck using a crankbait or spinnerbait but I am throwing at least one or the other each time I go, just in case.

Nice going Nomad. I was wondering when you were going to post some pics. Is the bite picking up, or is it still ones and two’s?

    NOmad,

I had seen some of your posts at Anglerstown but not on your site so I was wondering what was going on. Looks like it is going to be a good year again on the river. The bass are getting bigger and bigger every year. Good catch, keep em coming.

Good going Nomad. If you can catch nice bass like those on a trusty black senko, then why even bother trying to use anything else…..”if it’s not broken, don’t fix it!!”

    Rob,

It’s been ones and twos – at least during lunchtime. But then, I have very little time to fish and what I’ve been doing is walking a big stretch of shore, and stopping every few feet to make a cast or two. Not sure if that’s good or bad – but having only about 45 minutes, I’m looking more for the very agressive and hungry bass that are willing to hit on the first cast, vs. trying to work one spot to coax any bass into biting.

    Tex Mex,

I’ve been lazy about checking here and also posting; I’ll try to pay this blog a little more attention from now on :)

    Steve,

I hear you on the Senkos but I want to continue to “expand my horizons.” ;)
