I could not pass up 60 degree morning temperatures, even if it is still mid-March so you know where I was to be found at 6 this morning
. I sure am glad I got my butt out of bed though – I caught two small (and I mean small) dinks, and then, much to my delight and surprise, I caught this – my first Big Momma of 2009:
I’m not so sure how accurate my scale is; I did measure the fish though and it was a tad over 18 1/2 inches (or 47 centimeters for you metric types). And, I caught all three fish on a 4-inch, black Senko, fished nice and slow. I also tried 5-inch Senkos and I threw a spinnerbait from time to time with no luck.
Nice fish Nomad! Hungry bass, hungry bass….
Thank you sir
And so the 2009 EMB series begins
Good going Nomad. I think that your scale maybe a little off, that fish looks to be more like a 4lber, especially as it is 18.5 inches.
What time were you actually on the water??
Steve,
I got out there between 5:45 and 6:00…but if I remember right, I didn’t get the first bite until right around first light (6:30 or so).
