Nasty

That’s what the river is like after the rains this weekend.  Rob warned me yesterday that the water is really muddy but one thing I did learn last year was that if I want to go fishing, I just go, unless it’s too windy or we have a torrential downpour.

That should give you an idea of what the water is like out there right now – I think the only time I’ve seen it worse was after the monsoon rains.

But.

The bass were still biting ;) I have absolutely no idea how they could see the worm in that water  but I caught 4 fish this morning – the above was the only one worth taking a pic of though, the rest were dinks.

It looked pretty nasty from the bridge yesterday. Is that a boat anchored out there in the middle? wtf?

Nice catches. Still no red tails???

That’s a netter’s boat anchored at the 2nd rest stop. But, I did see a van with an empty boat trailer parked at the PBA are when I got there. Still no red tails…

Oh okay. It looks to be pretty far out into the water, but now I know which one it is.

Can’t imagine what’s up with the spawn out there.

Water is way down too…they must have opened the gates yesterday for a while, but it looks like some of that green crap got swept away, which is good.

It looked high yesterday, but it changes so quickly out there sometimes. At least you got out there and caught some fish, which is always a good thing. :)

Where are the sunrise pics??? ;)

  6. Nomad says:

Yeah, I was standing on (dry) rocks which were under a foot of water last Friday. This year has been weird, no really good sunrises. I need me some partly cloudy skies in the morning to make a nice sunrise…plus, I’ve been dividing my time between the PBA (where I took almost all my sunrise pics last year) and the other spot, where the sun rises behind me, out of sight, over the hills.

That is a nice looking fish Nomad. Usually when the wate ris like that I will fish a vibrashock, vibraspin or a spinnerbait with a big colorado blade

I can’t wait to get home now, but our Southern bass are well into post spawn now

    Steve,

I tried everything but the kitchen sink this morning but all they would hit, surprisingly, were the black Senkos with blue flake and even then, I think I had to hit them on the head with the lure to get a bite
