It’s Monday Again

I think I’m seeing a pattern lately; dinks with more dinks, with the occasional decent bass thrown into the mix.  This morning was no different.

Another pattern I’m seeing is that most of the decent bass I’m catching this year are being caught in very shallow water, close to shore, and early in the morning.  Last year, I caught most of my fish further out, in deeper water – but also very early in the morning.  This guy was in less than a foot of water, right against the shore, just waiting for me to drag my Senko by him.

Nice fish indeed, and nice sunrise photo

  3. Nomad says:

If that fish had been any shallower, he would have been on dry land

Late spawner maybe??? Or guarding the fry perhaps…

I think it was just cruising the rocks, looking for some food.

  6. Rob says:

That’s what I’d be doing if I was a bass, cruising around looking for a little food, and possibly a little tail… ;)

Where are these hot spots I keep reading about? I want to get in on some of this action!

  8. Rob says:

Kingpin, there are bass in just about every body of water in Korea. Just head out to one and give it a shot. Where are you located?

  9. Kingpin says:

I’m in Daegu, but I want to fish some of these places you guys are talking about…the places with the grass….and the green algae.

  10. Rob says:

If you’ll leave your email address I’ll send you some Google Earth links to some places up this way. Steve would be the guy to talk to about places down that way though. Steve????

    Kingpin,
There’s an awesome lake full of grasses at this time of year. It’s about one South of Daegu on the side of Highway 45. It’s called JangCheok Lake. There are also other waters around that same area.

Also, I fished in Daegu a couple of years ago, and you have some great ponds full of bass and grass right on your doorstep. I can send you some maps if you need them…let me know!!

  13. Kingpin says:

Sure! I’m always open for more lakes to look into!!!

  14. Steve says:

    Kingpin, you’ve got mail

    You are welcome!!
The one called MoonCheon is quite big and would be great if you had one of those inflatable fishing boats that the Koreans use.

Let me know how the fishing goes in those lakes.
