Nomad, I believe the world record gill is over 5 pounds. That would put a hurting on a Snoopy rod for sure. I have caught 2 to 2.5 pounders in Illinois farm ponds. When they get that big it can be tuff to turn them on ultralight tackle. They always want to swim perpindicular to you and can get tangled up in brush very easily.

Steve,

I'd be hitting that lake with my ultralight rig with 4-pound test and a mess of white 1/16 oz. rooster tails :)

I love catching bluegills...IMO, they put bass to shame when it comes to fighting. Yeah, imagine if they got to be 2-3 pounds or more ;)

Thanks hunterdave99.

I think the bluegills are much more aggressive than bass also. I must of had at least 100 bites on my bass lures from bluegill. I could see 2 or 3 bluegill following my lures back to my boat. I wish now that I had taken my flyfishing tackle with me.

Nice gills steve. Pound for pound I don't think there is anything better (fight wise or table fare). Our tackle would be hurtin if they got real big.

Thanks guys.

"If I had to guess, I’d say that you’ll be going back again sometime soon."

Rob, I definately would be going again soon, but with the water levels the way they are, I think I'll wait. The area I used to launch was a bit precarious, I actually got my boat and car stuck at one point.

Nomad, as far as I know, when the water water levels are up, this lake does get some pressure and from big bass boats. I have seen it in the Korean lure fishing magazine several times.

Nice going Steve!!!! :):)

I took my boat to a lake I have never fished before called NaJu Lake in GwangJu

If I had to guess, I'd say that you'll be going back again sometime soon. ;)

Hopefully I'll have a report or two for you guys after I get back from the states...haven't fished much at all this year, and haven't been out in over a month. Ack!
