I had every intention of sleeping in this morning because KMA was calling for a lot of rain all night/day but wouldn’t you know it; I woke up around 3 and couldn’t fall back asleep so after a peek out the window (no rain) I started the coffee and got ready to head on out.
As soon as I got close to the river, it started pouring down buckets but I figured what the heck, as long as there was no lightning or strong winds, I may as well give it a shot since I was already there.
The above were the only two I caught this morning, one on a black, 5-inch Senko, the other on 4-inch Senko, black with blue flakes. I also tried spinnerbaits and chatterbaits since the water is stained and has that green crud/algae which seems to start up every summer around this time, but no takers on those lures today.
As Rob would say….you are an “BASS FISHING ANIMAL” Nomad. Anyone how fishes in the rain is hardcore. Good going Nomad
Well Steve,
I had 3 choices; go back home, go to work and sit there alone for 3 hours, or fish. Since I was already there, I figured may as well fish. I don’t really mind the rain, it’s the winds that bother me but this morning, it was really calm out there.
Nomad,
I am really getting concerned.
I think you need to visit FA.

I mean when was the last weekday that you didn’t go fishing?
Don’t worry, I’m just jealous.
We are due to move to San Antonio next summer and I am trying to convince the wife we need to purchase a house on Lake McQueeney. That way I can go out in the back yard and fish every morning before work.
The limiting factor is that my patients usually don’t care for fish smelling hands all up in their face.
Dave,
If you’re thinking of an intervention, don’t, unless it’s at Idong or the river
Fishy smelling hands sure would make some great conversation though; you could start out the dental procedure by letting them smell your hands and asking them, “Guess what I was doing this morning?”
Haha, I crack me up sometime
LOL Guys!
“They wanted Nomad to go to rehab, but he said no, no…no!” LOL
