So Much For Top Water

There wasn’t even a hint of a breeze this morning so I thought it would be the perfect day to try some top water lures.  Maybe, maybe, it’s just me – I tried for about an hour with a couple different top water lures and had nothing to show for my efforts.  Good thing I had some Senkos along though smile_regular

I ended up catching four; two dinks and the two above (last two pics are of the same fish).  The above were caught on black, 5-inch Senkos, and the dinks were caught on black, 4-inch Senkos.  For those of you that care, the water in the river is super high, but finally clear again.

Nice going Nomad, and yet another nice release pic!

Yeah Nomad, you are getting the hang of the release photos. I’m hoping the topwater bite will be on down here tomorrow morning, I need some buzzbait action.

I tried a buzzbait (boozebait to some  ) for a while and also some Rapala topwater lure with a prop on the end but absolutely nothing. Like I said, I think it’s me…I’ve never had any luck on topwater. Thank goodness for Senkos!

There’s a KSA tournament in Chuncheon at the end of the month and I’m hoping the topwater bite will be hot by then. Lots of grass in the reservoir. Never had a lot of action on topwaters in the river.

LOL Nomad, I’m rather good with booze, I mean boozebaits

Good luck in that tournament John, let us know how you do.
