Guys,

You all can call the charter and make arrangements if you can set a group of at least 4-5. The price is the same for boat as you are chartering that boat. Ofcousre, the more you get the less it costs, but also too many makes for lines getting snagged with each other as the current below the boat runs prtety fast. You do need some strong rods as they will break rods when they make runs. A good strong ugly stick spinning rod with a spinning reel that handles up to 15 pound line will handle them. The Koreans use the super long 12 feet or longer collapsable saltwater spinning outifts. You will also need to buy some special floats that they sell out there. The charter will get your stuff fixed for you if you go the night before the trip. When I went, they also provided some Korean snacks but it may have changed. It's a trip worth the money. If you call before, the charter will be honest and tell you if they are still catching them and will let you know how many they have been bringing in. I have had them tell us the fish were not on so it shows he was honest.

Our group of 8 is going out this Monday. Should be a good time. I can't make it out again in November. Will be time to hit the local trout ponds and to get the skis ready for one last winter before I head to San Antonio next summer.

Gentlemen,

If anyone needs additional people in November to charter a trip for Amberjack I would love a shot at joining in. November will be a slow month at work and I might possibly get away.

Thanks for that number H/Dave. If you get the chance to fish for them in November I will try and join you (if you don't mind!)

I know this was discussed before here, but does this guy supply all the tackle or should I take my own??

Steve,
The number to the guy TexMex set me up with is 051-264-5438.
He is just one of many in that area who charter trips for the amberjacks.
Come on guys, the waves aren't that bad. Just have your wives pick up a motion sickness patch from a local pharmacy and place it behind your ear. Those things really work.

Going by my past experiences in the Gulf when I was at Ft. Walton Beach, I'll pass...I get seasick very easily and that's one feeling I don't want to re-experience. LOL, I was worried about getting seasick yesterday out on the river with those waves we had.

Hmmm, that very well may have been my problem in the past as well Tex Mex. LOL Maybe I should try ocean fishing without a hangover, and then see if I get sick or not. :)

Most of the time you are in sight of islands except for the early morning which is dark and you can't see anything but the lights off other boats. It isn't that bad but I did take a just retired naval submarine officer who tossed his ccokies several times  Ofcourse, that could have also been from staying up all night drinking and heading straight to the docks afterwards, without any sleep, for the trip  That was the last time we ever did that. Recommend plenty of rest.
