I Do Love Friday!

For more than one reason.  Once again, I got out to the river a little after 5, and saw that there were two vehicles parked near the area I like to fish, which is never good news.  And sure enough, there was also a tent set up, along with at least 10 carp fishing poles spread out.  I did manage to get down to my point though, and started fishing 5-inch Senkos, black with blue flakes.  On my 4th or 5th cast, this hog grabbed the worm and took off in the other direction…no tap-tap, just an immediate bend to the rod.  This is definitely the biggest bass I’ve caught in quite a while and it made my day.  After that, I caught a few dinks and that was pretty much it for the morning.  I threw a spinnerbait for a while, but with all the carp rods spread out near me, and a pretty good breeze that sprang up, it was hard to throw anything but Senkos without tangling up in the other fishermen’s lines.  A perfect ending to what was already a good week.

I had a feeling that you were going to catch a hog this morning Nomad! Nice going!!

That is a very nice, clean looking bass there Nomad good job

You could of cast your spinnerbait right accross all 10 of his lines and brought them all in, does he think he owns the whole river  lol

By the way Steve, “somebody” dumped a huge load of dirt onto the main boat ramp again.

Luckily there are still a couple of other options, but for now the war continues… :x

    You’re psychic, Rob!

Steve, the new look at the boat ramp:

Like us Cleveland fans say, Rob; “There’s always next year!”

We’ll get that ramp back up…I told your friend before that I’m willing to pitch in if necessary. I never did ask him what he heard back from his friend at the crafts shop regarding who did the filling this time but I tend to agree with you tqat it was the carp fishermen who have been flocking to that area lately. They probably hate to see a few vehicles with boat trailers parked there on a weekend.

  6. Steve says:

Oh man, that is just plain BS. Someone needs to set up a camera there to see who is dumping the dirt there.

    Nomad,

Nice catch. While the dumping of the dirt on the ramp sucks, it looks like someone picked up the trash that was there on the last pick you posted.

Or, they covered it up with the dirt ;)

  9. Rob says:

This is war I tell ya, WAR!

  10. Nomad says:

Oh, it’s been war, but aside from the fact that there aren’t any more carp fishing platforms out there (I know nothing, I know nothing! ), I’m not sure who’s winning at this point.
