I couldn’t stand it anymore, especially when I saw it wasn’t going to be that cold this morning; I had to get at least one more shot in at some EMB™ fishing before the year ends.
These two were it for the morning, both caught on black, 5-inch Senkos – no takers on spinnerbaits. Imagine that; KMA had no rain in the forecast but lo and behold, it started raining on the way to the river and it rained on and off the entire time I was out there. I feel like I’m coming down with something so I’m sure being out in the cold and rain didn’t help much but hey, a man has to fish. Or so I tell my wife. Wilsong, that dink’s for you! ![]()
Nice going Nomadman!!!
Alright Nomad, I’m sure there’ll be a few more “one more times” left this year.
I’m not so sure about that, it’s getting light around 7 now, and that’s the time I head in to work. I’ll try my best to get a few more day-fishing trips in before it’s too cold but the EMB is just about over, unfortunately
That’s the one good thing about winter fishing, I don’t need to be at the water at 5:00am like I do during the summer, I can have a good sleep, wake up late and still go fishing when the sun warms things up a little, usually around 10:00am is a good starting time.
Steve,
True, that’s great if you get to fish during the day throughout the week, but most, if not all of my fishing is done before work so this time of year is pretty tough on me. Unfortunately, the weekends are pretty much out because of family and also the amount of people out there, both carp and bass fishermen. But hey, there’s always lunch-time fishing!
There you go Nomad, positive thinking
I’m done with positive thinking. I spent last night prepping my boat for an outing this weekend only to find out today that somebody dumped a bunch of dirt and trees in front of “the other” boat ramp.
A little gasoline and a match should take care of most of that.
LOL Hunterdave…
That is BS!!!!!
I drove down there again this morning and they actually did it to all fo the ramps on the dirt road, covered them all up. However, “somebody” tore down the Korean commercial fisherman’s gate that he recently put up and there were approximately 15 Koreans who launched from there this morning. The war continues….
IMO, until the KSA and PBA get some balls and stand up for themselves, and maybe get the city involved, it’s a lost cause unless you have an inflatable that you can put in anywhere. If just one of the netters/carp fishermen has a friend/relative that’s a contractor, they’ll keep filling the ramps up faster than we can pay to have them cleared. I’m starting to wonder if one of the carp fishermen has some clout with the city and they’re the ones that are filling the ramps up? It wouldn’t surprise me in the least.
In the meantime, I’ll keep fighting the war my way, doing what little I can, when I can. My fillet knife was just sharpened and is ready to go
It looks like they finally did grab a pair as the gate that was previously up looks as though it was ripped out of the ground, probably by a vehicle. There were a lot of boats out there today, so we’ll see where it goes I guess. For the moment though, I wouldn’t feel safe leaving my truck and trailer there while I fished, at least not unless there were a bunch of Koreans who did the same.
You may be ok if you put the boat in, then move the car/trailer down a ways, at least out of the immediate vicinity but yeah, until some of this mess gets sorted out, if ever, I wouldn’t want too be the only one launching that day.
In the meantime, fight the power!
Here one day,

Gone the next:
Viva la bass fisherman!
Hmmmm, what happened there then??
Hunterdave,
I’m a card-carrying member of the MBFA (militant bass fishing association). Currently, I’m the only member, but that keeps meetings nice and short
Steve,
I know nothing….I know nothing!!! All I can say is, those carp fishermen built two big platforms early last spring right on the point where you and I fished when you came up…one morning they were sitting there, fishing on them, and the next day, those platforms somehow ended up floating down to the seawall. Tsunami, maybe? High tide?
