With this warm weather we are have down South, I decided to take the boat out on a road trip. I drove 3+ hours to the South West coast to the place where I caught 70 bass in one day last month. Well, I didn’t catch 70 bass this time, but I did manage 7 nice bass. All were caught on jigs or baby brush hogs pitched into the tall grass around the banks. All bass were around 14”~15” with great colorations, and they all fought hard in the sub-50 degree water temps.
Nice looking fish Steve!!
Thanks Rob!
Steve,
Good job once again! You did a lot better than I did this morning. I headed out to the river to a spot which has historically kicked my butt and this morning was no different. And it was cold and windy, yet again, but I stayed there for almost 3 hours and not a single bite to show for it
Like Rob always says, “It was just great to get out there!”
Even if I was a human popsicle by 9:30.
Thanks Nomad.
My first bite and bass didn’t come until almost 11:00am, and then I caught most of the fish within a couple of hours, so I think your lunchtime plans are the best right now.
Nice going Steve. Just wondering if the Anglerstown site has been closed. I noticed it had no new entrees for quite a while and now I see Nomad has removed them from the Korean fishing site list.
Thanks Tex.
As for Anglerstown, Nomad knows more than me, but I believe the site has been shut down due to the owners health problems.
Tex Mex,
I’m not 100% sure what happened, but a few months ago, the webmaster at Anglerstown had an aneurism/stroke. He recovered somewhat, and tried to start working on the site again for a few weeks, then suddenly he stopped again and the site stopped being updated at all. So I can only assume that due to health issues, he has decided to stop keeping Anglerstown up, and hasn’t been able to find anyone else who wanted to do it.
I’ve tried to email him a few times, with no replies…I really hope he’s doing ok.
That’s too bad about Anglerstown, the guys on there were instrumental in my finding out about fishing here in Korea. I enjoyed some great trips (freshwater and inshore saltwater) with Noranmir, Maduros, and the other guys. They taught me alot.
I hope Noranmir’s health returns to him.
Wilsong,
Were Noranmir and Mr. Hwang the same person?
Ack! Very sorry to hear about Mr. Hwang and the Anglerstown site.
Yes, they are the same person. Just in the habit of referring to him by the nickname. He’s a great guy.
Wilsong,
I wasn’t 100% sure because a few years ago, he signed his emails and translations/posts ad “Hwangs” and then about a year ago, the signature was changed to “Noranmir” so I thought that maybe, someone else had taken over the translation part of the site.
Either way, I’m sad to see the site go away, and I really hope Mr. Hwang is doing well, health-wise.
I learned a lot from Anglerstown, and also got to meet/know some really nice people like Madoros, Saecham and yourself, just to name a few.
