Most of my winter fishing spots down here are frozen over, but I found one that was still fishable. It is the main river down this way called Nam river and it was on the FTV show “The Hit” last week, so I decided to give it a go on Christmas Eve with my Codam inflatable boat. It was quite warm and there was little to no wind so it was fun. I caught 4 fish in total and missed and lost at least another 5 or 6 of which one of them was a good 3 pounder!!!!
Anyway, here’s the ones I did manage to land and photographs. The last 2 photos are of the same bass, the biggest of the day, at almost 17 inches.
Steve,
You are truly the man! Hope you’re having a good Christmas
Thanks Nomad, lol
Nomad, I tried to call you this morning, but there was no answer, I figured you thought it was a spam caller
We are having a great day, and I hope you are also having a great Christmas day!!
Way to go Steve!!! Anytime you can catch bass at Christmas, it’s a good Christmas!!! It’s cold as heck up here, windy, and snowing too…
Ack!!! Sorry, Steve! I had my phone on vibrate (and this model is so quiet in vibrate mode you won’t even know there’s an incoming call) and yep, it shows a missed call from you yesterday. Sorry about that.
I don’t think there’s any fishing in my immediate future…the river is already frozen over
Winter SUCKS!!!!!!!
You’re right Frank. I don’t remember the river ever freezing over this early in the year. Ack!
Well, despite the cold, I have a free day tomorrow as the wife and daughter have plans, so I may head out for a bit of fishing (if I can find some soft water).
That’s the spirit Steve!!!
I’m heading out the door in about one hour from now
Good luck, Steve!
I needed more than luck today, I should of taken some whiskey with me to go with all of the ice that was out there
LOL Steve! Whiskey!!! I like it!
Yeah, needless to say there won’t be a new post for today’s fishing
Sorry to hear that it didn’t go so well Steve, but at least you got out there…
And it’s snowing up here this morning, with more frigid temps in the near future
