It was cold out this morning but I couldn’t stay in bed, this weather has been killing me lately and I gotsta fish, cold be damned. There was also a full moon out so I headed on out to the river this morning. Before we get started though, here are the first sunrise pics of 2010.
And here are the two bass I caught this morning, on black, 5-inch Senkos.
I spent about 30 minutes throwing spinnerbaits to no avail…I’m not sure if the water is still too cold or what for fast action lures. If I can wake up, I’ll be out there tomorrow morning again ![]()
Nice going Nomad!!! And of course, nice pics!!
Thanks Rob! Feels good to be back in the saddle again
Gee, thanks Nomad. Now Aerosmith is going to be stuck in my head all damn day.
Way to go, Nomad. Good looking fish. Maybe I will finally be able to get out there next weekend.
With the spinner baits, did you try a slow retrieve.
Rob,
You’re welcome! LOL
Wilsong,
Thanks! Yes, I did try a slow retrieve; as slow as I dared in that river, anyway. You have to be very careful because too slow, and you’re instantly snagged on the rocks. Been there, done that and I have a closet full of t-shirts to prove it
good going mate.. they look like they’ve got some size to them..
were you out for long?
Nice going. What do you guess those weights to be? They look to be decent sizes.
Beautiful sunrise too.
tri,
Thanks; I was out there for about an hour, before work.
Mike,
Thanks; if I had to guess I would say they were between 1 1/2 and 2 pounds. Both hit very light and lethargic but once hooked, they put up a good fight.
That’s it now, Nomad has started catching, so they’ll be daily fixes of bass fishing on the blog again, woohoo. LOL.
WTG Nomad, and great sunrise photos
Ack! Steve is putting pressure on me!
LOL Steve, you know I’ll try my best
and I’m glad you enjoyed the pics!
