Initially, my plan was to stay in bed and sleep in this morning, since we had a lot of rain yesterday and I saw that the river was pretty nasty on the way home last night. But, by now, you know the story. I still woke up and since it was nice and warm, and the fact that Rob was sending me early morning emails, giving me crap about not going out, made up my mind.
When I got to the river,it was pretty foggy and I could tell it was getting thicker as the morning wore on, and yes, the water was pretty nasty but, I have seen it a lot worse. I caught the above on a 4-inch Senko, black with blue flakes about 15 minutes after I got out there. Once I caught that one, I switched to a spinnerbait but again, no hits on that.
Congrats Nomad! I was hoping that you’d catch “something;” otherwise you would have given me shit for encouraging you go to. LOL
Nice fish by the way…
That’s a nice bass Nomad. I can’t wait to get up there in 3 1/2 weeks time
Rob

BTW, it was great finally meeting you on the weekend. Sorry I haven’t posted much or kept in touch, but this first week at work has kept me busy.
It was nice meeting you as well Steve, and hopefully we’ll be able to do some fishing together when you come up in a few weeks.
Rob,
Oh yeah, you know I would have given you crap had I gotten skunked
Steve,
Hopefully I’ll be able to get out there when you come up, look forward to seeing you again. Since you’re busy working, I guess you won’t be able to come up early before the weekend?
No, I’ll be working Monday through Friday, so I’ll drive up on Friday night to arrive there Saturday morning for a day of practise.
I hope to see you all up there then, April 24th and 25th.
Nice fish Nomad..
Thats dedication if i ever saw it.
Steve,
Ok buddy, we’ll hope to see you one of those two days then!
tri,
I call it a sickness
Steve
You coming up for a tournament or just exploring the northern reaches?
Nomad
There is an article in the electronic Bassmaster about adding bigg4er blades to spinners in conditions that sound like what are going on here. FYI.
Wilsong,
I will be fishing a KSA Challenger Pro tournament on the river on the 25th. Hope to see you there if you can make it.
Wilsong,
That’s what I usually do despite the water conditions; I order the white/red “bleeding shad” Booyah spinnerbaits from Bass Pro and since they come with a small silver willow blade and one larger gold blade, I change out the gold one with a larger size silver blade for extra flash and thump. I also order another one which is a Bass Pro model, and I like it a lot because it has the extra skirt length which means I don’t have to add a trailer. For whatever reason, the bass in the river love that white/red combination.

Steve,
I’ll definitely try my best to at least get out there to see you one of the two days, and yeah, it would be nice to meet with Wilsong as well.
Gentlemen,
Will get down that way to see the thournament results coming in. Maybe wet a line earlier in day. Where will the tournament start/end?
Nomad
Nice looking spinnerbaits. Will have to try the alterations myself.
Steve
Speaking of tournaments, seen anything about KSA’s annual PROAM International dates yet?
