I can’t believe it’s already the 15th of April, yet there was still ice on the puddles, frost on the ground, and this is only my second set of sunrise pics of the year.
This has got to be one of the weirdest springs I’ve ever seen over here and I can’t wait for real spring to finally get here. But anyway, I braved the cold this morning (The sacrifices I make
) and even managed to catch a few fish.
The above were caught on black, 5-inch Senkos, fished nice and slow. I should have measured and weighed the one in the first pic, that was a decent bass. It hit the Senko like a dink; a very light tap and I had no idea what I had on the line till I set the hook and the fish took off. And once again, I tried a spinnerbait with no results.
Good going in this cold crappy weather Nomad.
I was watching the news last night, and it mentioned that this is the coldest April for 100 year!
Steve,
I know you’re as tired of this weather as I am
. Hopefully it’ll be nicer next weekend when you come up. It’s supposed to be pretty decent tomorrow so I’m going to take the boat out again; same place, same structure as last time but I think tomorrow I’m going to try crankbaits, spinnerbaits and jigs in and along the weeds….well, until I start getting skunked and then I’ll switch to Senkos
Good luck out there Nomad.
I’m the same as you, I always try new things, but quickly go back to my ole faithfulls when I skunk….lol
Senkos, never leave home without them
Nice going Nomad, and like Steve said, good luck tomorrow. It’s been one weird spring, that’s for sure.
Good work mate, that 1st fish looks like a thumper!
Good luck Nomad. Looking forward to a fishing report from the SS Netcutter.
