The rain that KMA predicted for this morning held off so I was out there a little after 5, chucking Senkos. Historically, I’ve had some of my best luck when a front was coming through, and today was no exception – and it was quite warm for a change!
I also tried a spinnerbait again for about 20 minutes but as you can see, still no joy. All bass were caught on (wait for it) black, 5-inch Senkos.
Nomad,
Nice fish. Were those caught near the bridge or further down?
Great catches Nomad. The first and fourth bass look great.
The rain is coming down heavy down this way and it’s forecast for all week
Charles,
Further down. I stay away from the bridge, usually too many carp fishermen around although that area may be good now that they’re putting all those rocks along shore.
Steve,
No rain up this way yet, but they are saying we’re supposed to get heavy rains Wednesday night and all day Thursday
. Hopefully things will clear up before Sunday though.
Nice fish mate,
Senkos seem like flavor of the month lol
tri,
I keep trying other lures but I always end up going back to what works best; Senkos
lol yup, I’ve noticed that haha
Sometimes you just don’t feel confident using another lure when something works that well..
I’ve got to get myself some now, I’ve got HEAPS of grubs, stickbaits, bass minnows and hardbodies but I don’t think I would be able to fish them confidently after reading all your posts lol
I will definitely be digging out my black senkos for this weekend. Nice fish, Nomad.
Ever since Nomad turned me on to Senkos a few years ago I rarely fish with anything else, especially this time of year. They require a little patience, but the proof is in the pudding…
No comment on the weather. It’s just been crazy.
Nice fish Nomad!!
