Had a great day out on the water with Steve this past Saturday. We didn’t catch a cubic butt-load of fish as Nomad and Ty did the day before, but a respectable 15 or so, and Steve managed to land a couple of really nice ones in the 3.5 pound range, one of which is pictured below. I had a great time Steve, and hope to do it again sometime soon!!
YT Fishing and KSA also sponsored a tournament on Sunday that drew a crowd to the PBA area unlike one I have never seen before. I didn’t fish that day, but saw several nice 4+ pound fish brought in to the weigh-in station, and for anybody heading out this weekend, spinnerbaits were apparently the lure of choice for the big ones.
I also had the pleasure of meeting Mike and his buddy for the first time out there on Saturday. It was a pleasure to meet the both of you, and I hope to see you out on the water again sometime soon.
Rob, it was an absolute pleasure fishing with you my friend, I’m already looking forward to the next time
Maybe next time I’ll be able to find and catch some of those flying bass
Thanks for showing some great spots that definately helped me during the Sunday tournament.
LOL Steve. That was certainly a first. I’ve yanked them out of the water before, but never quite like that.
LOL Rob!!
BTW Rob, I think you sold us a bit short, I counted the fish I caught and it was 8, and I know you caught a lot more than me, so we must of caught at least 20 bass, not bad concidering the wind we were fighting in the afternoon!
I couldn’t stop laughing after that fish came flying out of the water and over the boat. LOL Poor little fella is never going to be the same after that, and neither am I. LOL
I don’t think I caught all that many more than you did Steve, but the count probably was closer to 20 or thereabouts…
Good time man…
“I couldn’t stop laughing after that fish came flying out of the water and over the boat”
Pure little fellow, perhaps that’s why your ribs were hurting after all that side splitting, lol
Thats a healthy looking bass mate, nice work..
Steve,
Where is the lake pictured on the Sunday tournament? Is that the lake between Pusan and Taegu that you always fish in?
Tex,
The tournament was also held on the Pyeogtaek river.
Damn, as big as that river is, all them people lined up side to side to try and catch bass?
Don’t know how the bass would even hit anyhting with that many people throwing stuff at them. Bet there was a lot of foul hooked fish. Did they release the bass back into the water or did they destroy them to satisfy the carp fishermen who I bet were there looking on and complaining.
Steve,
I juss looked at those pictures again and noticed that was one of the areas I fished the most when I was stationed at the Hump. The discharge gave it away as did the entrance. Can’t beleive I didn’t see it at first. The tower in the background should have been a clue.
Tex Mex, they had the bank fishermen locked into a certain area. And yes, they released all of the bass, and even had a trash pickup after the tournament and gave everyone who participated (which was almost everybody from what I saw) a prize for pitching in. It was really a classy tournament.
Wow,
I wish everyone would follow this great example. Wish I could have been there.
Yea, it was actually a pretty well run tournament. Too bad “somebody” has blocked access to the PBA area boat ramp AGAIN.
I guess the only people allowed to have fun on the river are the carp muttons. If the city would just get a little more involved and build some decent concrete ramps (doesn’t have to be at the PBA area), then everyone could be happy.
I think it’s the netters Nomad, not the carp guys, but until we catch a dirt-dumper or a trench-cutter in the act, we’ll never know…
Just like the sinking of the Cheonan! We know pretty much the “what”, but it’ll be hard to prove the “who.” LOL
LOL
