Or, spinnerbait day because that’s all I threw today unless you want to count the 15 minutes I wasted tried a buzzbait.
I thought I’d stick with spinnerbaits because the water is really murky; not sure why…maybe it’s all the green algae that’s growing like mad. I don’t remember the algae growing like this so early before…it usually doesn’t start appearing until later on in the summer when the water gets warmer. It sure has been an odd spring so far.
How many people can you fit into a small inflatable? Four, that’s how many. I have no idea how these guys are going to fish since they barely had room to sit in that boat.
LOL Nice catches Nomad, and is that braided line I see?
Nice catch Nomad. That boat stuff is as bad as some of Korean tramways or Mexican buses I have been on. Pretty funny.
Rob,
Nope, the braid is on my Senko rod but I sure wish I would have had it on my baitcaster this morning because, yes, you guessed it, I lost yet another nice one this morning (not even close in size to the one yesterday though). Same as yesterday except today, it was on a spinnerbait…I did everything right; set the hook good, kept the rod tip down to prevent jumps, but when the fish got real close to shore and into the rocks, my line got cut. I think this is the first time in the history of Early Morning Bassing that I’m glad it’s Friday. But, it’s the nature of the beast. When you fish in an area that has so many sharp rocks under the water, close to shore, you’re going to end up with frayed and cut line and I guess I’ve been lucky in the past few years because I haven’t lost all that many fish, considering how often I’m out there. But man, two frigging days in a row! LOL I guess I could put 20 or 25 pound line on my reels so I can horse the fish close to shore and keep them out of the rocks but I don’t like fishing with line that stiff. I did put 30-pound braid on my Senko rod though, although a day late
Tex Mex,
I just stood there and watched them pack their stuff and themselves in the boat. Honestly, unless they were going somewhere to fish from shore, I have no idea how they planned on fishing out of that boat as cramped as they were.
LOL on that boat photo
Nice catches again Nomad. Keep trying that buzzbait in the early mornings Nomad, as the night time temps get warmer, the early topwater bite will get better.
Thanks Steve…I’ll keep trying that topwater but am wondering if that area I fish is good for that…
