.500

I batted 500 this morning, which I was still happy with, considering how bleak it’s been the last few weeks and that we’re into the post-spawn and summer..

Today was combination day; I threw spinnerbaits, a jig and also a Karu Lures Vibrashock.  The morning started out quiet without a bite for the first hour so I was getting resigned for another skunk and standing there day dreaming while throwing a spinnerbait (white/red, of course) when a bass nailed the lure.  I was so surprised to have a fish on that I didn’t set the hook, didn’t lower the rod tip to keep the fish from jumping – so that’s exactly what it did, and threw the lure.  That got the juices flowing again and after 10 minutes or so, I caught the above.  Sorry for the crappy release pic but it’s been a while and I’m out of practice Open-mouthed.

    Lol, what signs??

Glad you managed to keep that skunk at bay Nomad, nice catch!!

    Hahahahaha Steve…exactly. I’m a criminal through and through :)

After all that rain we had over the weekend, the water is still surprisingly clear, although they did lower it about 2 feet. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; there’s nothing like catching a bass on a spinnerbait!

Lol Nomad, you criminal you  From that second photo, it looks like that bass just “slipped” out of your grasp, slippery buggers aren’t they ;-)

The lake I fished yesterday was also very clear, at least 5 to 6 foot visibility, which is very unusual for this area.

  4. Nomad says:

Yep, that’s the ticket…it “slipped” LOL

Nice fish Nomad, and I love the release, errr, I mean “fish slipped out of my hands and into the water” pic!! :)

And yea, the water is surprisingly clear for the amount of rain we had over the weekend.

Weird, but fish slipping out of my hands seems to happen a lot. Maybe my motor skills are declining in my old age?
I was so sure that the water was going to be muddy that I had a spinnerbait with a colorado blade tied on but changed that to one with willow blades once I saw how clear it was.

Ack! Last night I checked the KMA weather site and they were predicting 10-24mm of rain this morning so I stayed in bed…by now, I should know better  Not a drop this morning. Blah! Good luck at Kunsan, Ty.

Nomad, I was just informed this morning that the Korean rainy season starts tomorrow

    Steve,

Yeah I heard the same thing; hopefully this year’s rainy season is like last year’s, non-existing.
