Felt good to be out again

Now that my family has left Korea, I was able to get out on the water again, and it felt good, well, until I got sun burnt that is. It was supposed to be cloudy with some rain showers all day, but by lunchtime the sun was shining and the wind was blowing hard.

Luckily I was on the water by 6:30am with my inflatable boat and was able to catch a few bass before the weather got too tough. I caught 10 bass in total and 9 of them were caught on 5” senkos, both GY and copies, with the majority falling for the slower falling copy senkos. The other bass took my Surecatch crankbait.

Here’s some photos of the better fish, no dink pics;

WTG, Steve, some nice healthy bass you caught there!

Thanks Nomad. These bass were not huge, but the were fighting like 5+ pounders, very strong fish.

Nice fish. Looks like you were fishing the Senkos wacky rigged?

Any recommendations of lures to use on Andong Sunday? Have a couple of new Tru-Tungsten swimbaits thought I would try.

    Wilsong,

Wacky-rigged Senkos  Rob always slays them down there on those, even when others are having a bad day ;)

Wilsong, yep, I was using the wacky rigged Senkos. I’ll be trying them at Andong also, but I’m not sure what to use at this time of the year at Andong. I guess early morning will be the best time to catch a limit before it gets too hot. I’m hoping it’ll be nice and cloudy on Sunday.

    See you there Wilsong ;-)

To quote Judge Dredd, “I knew you’d say that!”

They are part of my bag already. (Black, watermelon and junebug)

The issue is seems the pro’s are rarelly letting the boat sit stationary long enough to work them slowly, so practically end up swimming them.

Hoping for clouds myself. Have ended up feeling like toast during previous tournaments there. But……

Along with the swimbaits and senkos, I will probably go heavy with rattletraps and a variety of spinnerbaits, if no one has other suggestions.

    Wilsong,

If your pro won’t slow down, throw out the anchor :)

For three years running I’ve had really good luck on the wacky-rig down there, but it’s been in the early spring / spring time frame, and you have to fish ‘em slowly, which a lot of the Koreans don’t like to do. This time of year, I don’t have a clue man, but maybe crankbaits if you can find the fish…

With my size, I think the pro’s believe I am the anchor ( at least a drag anchor).

LOL Wilsong, but I’ve seen pics of you and you’re not that big… :)
