Rainy Wednesday

Surprise, surprise.  Monday night, KMA was calling for 10-24mm of rain on Tuesday morning, so I didn’t bother to get up yesterday.  Of course, it didn’t rain a drop.  I checked last night (and when I first got up this morning) and there was no rain predicted for this morning and of course, it started raining on my way out to the river and it rained on and off all morning, along with a good brisk wind.

With that wind, I stuck mainly to spinnerbaits.  That fish in the first pic fell off right at shore but I was able to grab it for a picture opportunity before it swam off.  Around 6, 2 carp muttons came down and set up 5 feet to my right, which limited my casting area, especially with the direction the wind was blowing.  Sigh…20 miles of shoreline and they have to set up right on top of me.  But, that’s fishing in Korea, like it or not.

Nice going Nomad, and yea, you just never know what you’re going to get with the weather around here…

    Good going Nomad.

The weather forecasters have been getting things seriously wrong for the last few weeks.

Weeks? More like DECADES Steve!!! ;-)

Thanks Rob & Steve. Honestly, after all the times I’ve been burned by KMA, I don’t even know why I still bother to check what they say is in store. I think the best solution is to get up and look out the window…although that didn’t work out so good for me this morning since it started raining about 5 minutes after I started driving. But once I’m in the car, it’s game on :)

LOL Nomad, and good luck to all of those headed down to Andong this weekend!

  6. Nomad says:

Ditto that, hope there’s some good weather this weekend…and I hope I can finally kick this darned cold! I’ve only gone out once in the last week and am hoping to take the boat out Saturday.

  7. steve says:

Rob, will you be at Andong over the weekend?

    Good luck on Saturday Nomad!

  8. Rob says:

Steve, unfortunately ;) I’ll be chilling on a nice and warm beach somewhere on the North Shore of Oahu by the time you guys start grilling down at Andong Saturday evening. LOL

  9. steve says:

Did you really have to rub it in  Hope you both have a great time over there Rob!

I book my holidays around my fishing schedule, lol.

LOL Steve, and thank you. To be honest with you though, a big part of me would rather be down at Andong fishing.

Check this out though. I found a guide service online this morning for Peacock and Largemouth bass fishing on the island’s only fresh water lake, so if I can break away for a few hours you can bet that I’m going to check it out!!! :)

Sweeeeeeeeet, I’d love to catch some of those big peacock bass. I hope the Mrs will let you go, or go with you.

Man, I hope this rain eases up a bit before I set off to Andong tonight, or I’ll have to stop several times to pump all the water out of the boat, it’s really heavy here right now.

When I was in Hawaii last fall, looked into the freshwater guides. The ones I found wanted about as much as a half day to full day on the ocean. I settled for the inshore fishing out of the Honolulu port. Had some fun. Good luck.

    Steve

If you have access to a puter, let me know how much it is raining down that way. I will not get to Andong until 7 or 8 Saturday night. Thundering here now in Seoul.

    Wilsong,
The rain is still coming down here, and it is supposed to be the same at Andong all day tomorrow (but I hope it’s wrong for the sake of the BBQ). However, Sunday is forecast for cloudy only with little to no wind, which will be perfect for the fishing.
If you email me you cell number, I will text you a weather update on Saturday afternoon from Andong.

  14. wilsong says:

Great. Hope to see you down there.

  15. steve says:

I hope you can make it Wilsong, I will be there around 8:00am tomorrow morning and fishing for a few hours before the BBQ gets warmed up
