As some of you know, due to a family vacation earlier this summer and the constant rain we’ve received the latter part of summer, I never really had a chance to get back out for Early Morning Bass fishing. Every time I started getting my stuff ready, we got hit by another deluge, which kept the river a constant color of chocolate milk. This morning I FINALLY got back out there and was treated to a beautiful sunrise:
After I finished watching that awesome sunrise, I even got some fishing in and caught a couple, one on a 10.5” Zoom monster worm and one on a red/white spinnerbait.
Unfortunately, there’s more rain in the forecast so I’m not sure when I’ll be able to get back out there again. It sure felt good to wet a line again, and to feel something tugging at the other end ![]()
Welcome back Nomad, and that’s a nice looking bass in that first photo.
That first bass was my saving grace this morning…well, except for that sunrise.
It’s great to see the EMB and sun rises again Nomad
I agree with Rob, that first bass is a very nice looking bass. Quick question Nomad, how are you rigging those big 10.5 inch worms and how are you fishing them??
Steve,
Thanks
I’m rigging them weightless on a 4/0 hook and am dragging them across the bottom, with light jerks every now and then to get them off the bottom, then letting them sink…almost the same way I used to fish Senkos.
Thanks Nomad.
How fast do those big ole worms sink?
I’m not really sure how fast they sink but I usually give them about 10 seconds or so to hit bottom and settle before starting my retrieve, since I am fishing them weightless. They’re kind of heavy, about the same as a 5″ Senko so I imagine that they sink fairly quick, slower than a Senko though.
